Not Yet.

There's no word today on the adoption front. Thanks to everyone who has been praying over the weekend. We continue to covet your prayers.

And now...if you experienced childhood at all during the '80's, chances are that you probably have heard of this and this. Well, it came to my attention yesterday that there is a documentary being produced right now (due in theaters this fall) that is about them. Here's the trailer...

I think if Flannery O'Connor were writing today, a Chris Thrash-like character might make it into one of her stories.

Bliss.

Hello,

I am in Austin. I love Austin. Like everybody, I guess.

Bliss: I am here with my husband. We are at a conference, at which we have spent three days listening to lectures about: the Greeks, the Romans, the medievals, children, teaching, Jesus, music and the arts, and truth-goodness-beauty. After one lecture I was so inspired I skipped the next workshop and started to write a story about a little Ethiopian girl....I also made a few sketches. Michael and I spent the evenings with some of our favorite teacher-friends, eating lots of Tex-Mex and drinking margaritas and laughing and talking about books. I spent one afternoon reading magazines by the hotel pool. The sun was very hot, but the humidity was low and the breeze was very nice.

Bliss: Today we wandered into vintage shops and independent bookstores and I bought Persepolis and The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency. And now we have just spent half the day with our brother and sister-in-law, who live in Austin with our adorable nephew.

NT Wright on The Colbert Report

If any of you know at all who NT Wright is, you might find this interesting and comical. Even if you don't know who he is, you'll still find this interesting, me thinks. Wright's book, Surprised by Hope, which is talked about in this piece, is on my desk for me to read after I finish a couple of others.

Constantly-hugged goats.

Today, this made me giggle. I found it on a yummy blog, Design Mom.
